Art, graphic art, design, digital technology, writing, paying dues, sitting and looking into friendly faces and drawing a blank, color, oh yeah, interesting color, color field where I began as a Pollack fan but not of the art so much as of the man and his choices – well right up to the end anyway, then media, art media and running the risk of crossing the line, not sure who put that line there, me, I suppose… tools; pens, pencils, graphite, watercolor, ink, paint, scrappers, airbrush and spray cans and cut out paper and cardboard sheets, air and glitter, rhoplex and the smell of thirty year old liquid plastic, resin and fluorescent bulbs, skylight and slide projectors, video tape rolling, digital scanning, digital painting, architecture and the human form, snow and ice, artifacts of construction, abandoned foundations, archival inks, archival paper and here I am… [more]

Claire Scully - The quiet revolution

The quiet revolution is the body of work by London based Illustrator Claire Scully inspired by the conflicting and harmonious relationships the urban environment has with the natural world. "The primary focus of my personal work is to explore the relationship between nature and the modern urban environment by the subversion of the familiar and overlooked into a sinister surreal situation using mutation and juxtapositions. A mix of playful humour with sinister undertones of conflict and mutation the quiet revolution is a visual exploration into the relationship between the natural world and the urban environment showing the significance of nature within a cities surroundings and the struggle for power we have with it, by using a combination of printed illustrations with moving image". Claire Scully: Studied for BA Graphic and Media design at London College of Communication (01-04) and Central Saint Martins (04-06) for MA Communication Design. As well as continually working on many personal projects and frequently collaborating with various other artists, Claire works as a freelance illustrator.

Printed / digital

In this section I have my print based / digital work. These are all digitally produced artworks that use some of the main principles of screen-printing but with the bonus of using a computer too I can create work with much more intricate detail. Because of my organic approach to my image making I try to create digital illustration without it looking like digital illustration.

Maggie Taylor

Maggie Taylor was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the Crown Bearer for the 1967 May Queen at Hathaway Brown School. Later, she graduated from Yale University with a BA in philosophy. She received an MFA in photography from the University of Florida. For approximately ten years she worked with a camera and film creating still-life images in her studio and garden. In 1996 and 2001 she received State of Florida Individual Artist’s Fellowships. In 1996 Taylor began working digitally, using a scanner in place of a camera. By placing objects directly on the glass top of the scanner she is able to create a unique type of digital image which has some photographic qualities.

Taylor’s work is in the collections of The Art Museum, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ; The Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, AZ; The Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; The Harn Museum, Gainesville, FL; The High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA; The Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, AL; Musee de la Photographie, Charleroi, Belgium; Museet For Fotokunst, Odense, Denmark; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; NationsBank, Charlotte, NC; and the Prudential Insurance Company, Newark, NJ, among others.

Dou Art Photography

II was born in Moscow on 19th of August 1983.

My mother was a painter, and I was spending a lot of time among the artists, though I was not particulary interested in their activities.

I felt an urge for arts and creation some time ago, when I was working as a designer, which pushed me to study seriously the design. That’s how I "bumped into" photography, and I had an idea to combine it with design.

Creation brings me an enormous pleasure, I became conscious of the fact that photography is something I always wanted to do. I am stubborn, ambitious and optimistic by nature, I like being different, and my work, I hope, reflects these features of my character.

"I’ve always had a fascination for the psychological aspects of life, the reason behind every deed, the definition of the truth. In my work as much as in private life I constantly analyse the boarder between: subjective and objective; individual and collective; illusion and reality."
Agnieszka Dellfina

"Being an artist for me is, to walk along the razor sharp shore line between the sea of annihilation and the inner landscape of hope, to float in the gap between the awareness of our souls and the indifference of our TV screens, to survive the no–man’s land, where art pendulates between the cruel madness of reality and the beauty and serenity of our dreams.

Edoardo Belinci Art Work

Edoardo Belinci is born to Rome in 1974. After to have acquired the traditional techniques of painting and the illustration, from 1994 he begins a constant experimentation in the field of the Digital Art, offering a reflection on the world of today like a metaphor of a possible future, reconstructed through most careful digital elaborations. The artist capture moments of life of new human beings and of a fascinating run to the evolution of the existence. The images of Edoardo Belinci tell us about of a society evolution, in which producing, product and production are bond elements. A world in which created (the technological products) has absorbed the creator (humans)and they had assumed the humans peculiar characteristics giving to life to one new living species: a humanity of hybrids, organic and inorganic, where elements human lay harmonic and functional with the structure mechanical of which make part. Metaphors of our times but also visions of a future that is been redesigned to the standards of the efficiency.
